How to avoid an icy lake in Finland

The icy lake of Lake Hausu is expected to form over the weekend in Finland, as a warm, wet spring will bring down the mercury.

The lake, which was first detected by satellites in April last year, is thought to be the largest lake in Europe, with a depth of around 15 kilometres (9 miles).

Lake Hausur is also a major source of lake sediment in Finland.

The lakes body of water will become extremely wet on Saturday, as the temperatures will be between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius (59 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit).

The lake is believed to be at its deepest point on the island of Oulu, as it lies between the Finnish islands of Turku and Uusimaa.

This will mean that the lake will begin to swell, causing heavy snow and ice to fall, with temperatures likely to drop into the mid-30s Celsius (100F) over the next few days.
